Migraines

What is it with the weather that makes your head hurt so bad that you can hardly stand it??~~ My head started hurting for no visible reason this morning, and it hasn't stopped. At the end of the school day, when I went out to do car rider duty it hit me. The weather felt like rain and the sky was looking weird. It was the atmospheric pressure and the coming of the rain that made it hurt! A friend of mine on facebook talked about this today, also. He described it as his head being in a vice! That description is perfect! Yes, I am using a lot of exclamation points, because it feels that bad! Sometimes, I can tell for a couple of days that the weather is coming. I had no idea today that bad weather was approaching. I thought I had gotten into something in the first grade classroom where I was working. Usually, after it starts to rain, the headache goes away, POP, just like that. But today, it has lingered on and on. I guess the storm, air pressure, and weather are not finished yet! My eyes even water with it! So, here I am on this blog rambling on about the headache. Sorry about that. Maybe a nice warm shower banging down on my head will help it stop. I think I will try that. I hope you all are having a terrific night! Talk to you later.

Flying to Grandma

Lauren asked us one night if we could send Grandma's balloon to her up in heaven. We all said, "Sure you can!" We went outside and started the ceremony. Lauren talked to Grandma and said, "Here comes your balloon, Grandma. We love you!" This smiley face balloon was one that Mamma had in the hospital, and it was still inflated pretty well. Lauren thought up this idea all by herself. You never know what kind of little wheels are turning within their heads. The young ones had been having a hard time with Mamma's passing, and this idea was a great way to help them ease their grief.

Rebecca and Lauren are watching it go!

The balloon is almost to heaven and Grandma!

The balloon is flying high!

Success!! The balloon is reaching heaven. We love you, Grandma!!

One very eventful Saturday!

It all started about 6 AM. Yes, I said 6 A.M. I am not kidding. Rising at 6 A.M on a Saturday morning is a VERY rare occurence for me. Today was special, though. Rachel developed a team for the breast cancer walk, and we all joined Team Willilou. The team was made in memory of my mom who passed away from breast cancer that turned into uterine cancer. This year was the first time that a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was held in Savannah, so...we participated. Rachel, Don, Adam, me, Vicky, Dewey, Susan, Julia, Barbara, Thomas, 'big' Lauren, Kate, Douglas, Ellen, and baby Dewey III. The 'in shape' ones ran the 3 miles of the track, and the rest of us walked! We made really good time. We did the whole thing in 1 hour. That time makes for 3 twenty minute miles, which is pretty good. I really didn't know we would keep up such a swift pace all the way through, but we did! I am kinda sore, not kinda - SORE - but it was worth it. There were over 3,000 people there. That number is great for a first time event. Paula Deen was even there. She helped open the event, and I think she said she was going to walk. Along the path, we passed her restaurant, and there were people lined up for blocks waiting to get in. Honestly folks, the food isn't good enough to wait in that long of a line. It is just southern soul food that is served there. Any one of us can cook like that! After the walk, we went around the booths and got free juice, fruit, yogurt, etc., and some other things. Then, we came home. Susan and I went back downtown to see what was going on for the Earth Day celebration. We saw an old friend, Joey Allen, and had a nice conversation with him. We also came upon our cousin from Clayton! He had driven down with his girlfriend last night. He wanted to show her all around Savannah. I got two free Cypress trees to plant. Daddy says they can't be planted in the city, though. I'm not sure why. Oh well, I got them. I will plant them anyway. Today was a great day for walking, sightseeing, and anything outdoors. Tonight, Rachel, Adam, Vicky, Don, and I went to a play. It was great. The Benedictine boys and the St. Vincent girls put on a play together called "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Rachel, Adam, and I love that story! We used to watch that movie over, and over, and over, and over again when they were small. I taped it off of the Disney channel, and we watched it continually. We love it! Then, we came home via McDonald's. I think I have a new favorite sandwich: the Big Mac! I know, I know, it is an old sandwich, but I have just found it. Daddy always wants to go to the place that has the Big Mac (but he means the Whopper, Jr. coz they are 99 cents!) SO, I bought a Big Mac for him today, to show him what it really is. He loved it, so I had to buy one tonight and see just how good it really is. It is good, and it is not so filling that it stuffs you up like a quarter pounder (believe it or not). So, the time is really late, and I am rambling. This late hour is the time when I do my best writing! Ask my professors!! hahahahahaha
Like I said, today was a very eventful day, a funfilled day, an exciting day, and a fulfilling day. Maybe I should get up more often on Saturdays at 6 A.M. !!!!!

Accesorize your blog

Hi,
I have been trying for days to "accesorize my blog" with the little blinkee from the cutest blog on the block website. I tried and tried, but I couldn't get it to work - OR so I thought! I think I was doing it right the whole time, but I just thought I wasn't. Anyway, I got it correct tonight. I actually put it in there twice at the bottom, before I even realized it was on there once! After I realized the two blinkees were blinking, I finally figured out how to put two more at the top! I have had a lazy night. I spent the afternoon with the two littlest Hoopers, Julia and 3D. I had taken pictures of them Sunday and yesterday to use in a slideshow. I finally got the show done tonight, and I emailed it to everyone. I think I should post it, because I don't think everyone has an email - or I don't have their email addresses - it is one of the two things, I'm sure. I actually got to watch an entire Talk Soup, or The Soup, on the E channel tonight. I usually catch it late and miss half of it. I like that crazy show. I was a big fan in the beginning when Greg Kinnear started it and hosted it. I like the way this new guy gets the people he makes fun of to come on his show! I think that it is neat that they can laugh at themselves and not take themselves so seriously, so they will come to the show. It is Friday night, and I usually go to bed EARLY on Friday night. I am always so whacked out by Friday that I am just exhausted. I have kept myself busy tonight, so I wouldn't fall asleep. I made brownies and watched tv. I finally saw some of the 40 year old virgin show, well the last half hour, anyway. Then, it came right back on, so I saw the very beginning, too. I thought, enough is enough of that, and I came right back here to the computer. I'm starting to get very sleepy, so I will sign off for now. I will probably stay on this computer for a while and maybe post the slideshow I made of the kiddos. Have a great night and a good tomorrow!

Monday Ramblings

Hello,
I like the new look of my blog, so I thought I would pop in again. I have been surfing around on this computer all afternoon. I have not accomplished anything, but it has been an easygoing way to spend the afternoon. I first had to catch up on my soap, The Guiding Light. I like to watch that, when I get a chance. Yes, I like the soaps. As Amelia says, "Don't judge me!" HAHA! Rachel came over to get her clothes out of the dryer, while I was online talking to Carter. She had some ice cream while she waited. She usually comes over to exercise to Adam's new tapes by some guy who does an extreme fitness thing called Beach Body, with each day being different body part workout exercise. He even has a day of yoga. Adam, Vicky, and Rachel are all into that getting fit and healthy stuff! HAHAHAHA!
I've been cooking since 6, for one person. I don't know why it took me so long to get anything done! Daddy already ate fish, and Rachel is fixing something at her place, so I was all alone to fix whatever I wanted. I made healthy stuff, really I did: Skinless Chicken tenders baked, salad with only lettuce and an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing I make, and green beans.Well, I did add a touch of chicken gravy from a McCormick's envelope, but that is okay. The meal doesn't sound like much, but it is filling. I even made myself some sweet iced tea! Well, I have rambled on enough. I shall go for now. Have a great day!

A new look!

Hi,
I finally figured out how to put a nice, pretty, but still PINK background on my blog. I just had to write something for the first time, even though it is just a note. Thanks Amelia for having the Cutest Blog on the Block ad. I finally looked through enough of it to figure it out! I am glad that you are back. I always enjoy reading your posts. Arlene, I am glad that you guys sold your house and that you are happy and anxious to move to your new place. Happy Sunday!
